Allerton & Alton drew attention as they were an "interracial" musical duo, which, at the time, was unheard of. The album contains the complete story of Allerton & Alton, "The Cumberland Ridge Runners," as well as numerous photos and information about Bluegrass music in the 1940's and '50's.
